ENLIGHTENMENT’S END?

It’s become fashionable (again) to categorize people by physiological traits, origin or lifestyle. Then denigrate or glorify them (or their ideas), based on those labels. (What was the old word for that..?)

Be wary of anyone using these tactics — and their cunning puppeteers.

Rabid advocacy or opposition is often regressive, even when the cause seems just.

Truth does not lie in absolutes, so absolutists must lie. First to themselves, then to others. They must shout-down, silence or threaten dissenters — to shelter their lies.

Closed minds demand victories. Critical minds demand truth.

On principle, critical minds must change when presented with better ideas, viewpoints or evidence. Closed minds can’t change. They must always trade principles for victories.

The better idea must always prevail. No matter who delivers it — or how uncomfortable. The day quality bows to demography — or any other invention, the enlightenment ends. And Idiocracy begins.
